This standard lays down rules for giving systematic names to physical quantities. The systematic names are formed in combination with terms like coefficient, factor, constant, or by adding terms like specific, molar, relative to the names of physical quantities in order to characterize other derived or related quantities. It is recommended to use these rules for new names of quantities, where no individual name (like pressure, power, entropy) is available.
