This standard applies to fittings with loose flanges and smooth collars including appurtenant nuts and bolts, as generally used in mining for compressed-air or water mains for statutory operation pressures of up to 10 bar, together with steel piping as per DIN 20002 part 1. In addition for water in pipelines of up to 250mm of nominal width operation pressures of up to max. 25 bar are allowed if the conditions contained in table 5 are met.
