Flanges according to this standard can be used for maximum working pressures up to 10 bar at temperatures up to, 110 degree Celsius and for maximum working pressures up to 6 bar at temperatures up to 220 degree Celsius respectively, when for these temperatues suitable special gaskets for hot bitumen are used. These flanges are used for road tank trucks which preferably transport liquid petroleum products as well as for rail bulk freight wagons.
