Inverted tooth type chains according to this standard are driving chains for shafts rotating in same direction. Due to involute toothing of the chain wheels, a good pressure angle and low masses of the individual plates there is only a faint starting shock. This results in quiet running. The movable link consists of two link joints with convex movable surfaces. The guide plates prevent the inverted tooth chain from laterally running off the chain wheel.
