This standard specifies the characteristics of thread inserts, with MJ thread, ring locked, screw-locking, corrosion-resisting steel used together with lock rings according to LN 29559 in accordance with the directions for design and installation laid down in DIN 29561 for aerospace applications. These thread inserts shall be used with surface treatment according to code letter D for temperatures up to 315 °C and those with surface treatment according to code letter U for temperatures up to 425 °C. Depending on the parent material, these thread inserts shall be used in the classifications 900 MPa/1100 MPa/1250 MPa/1550 MPa.
