This standard applies to see water bearing pipes out of 2.1972 (CuNi10Fe1,6Mn) according to DIN 85004-2 on watercraft of the Deutsche Marine (German Navy). This standard shall be used for new buildings, conversions and overhauls. These procedures serve the protection of inside plies of new pipe assemblies and new parts of pipe, following assemblies, hereinafter: pipe assemblies, against river, port and brackish water, since the aggressiveness of these media can prevent the formation of a natural, even protective layer on the material surface.
