The standard defines the relative position of the three terminals to each other, to the joint and to the cable entry slot of the terminal box and the maximum dimensions of the cable slot entry as a function of the rated current as well as the minimum distances to the enclosure surfaces, the position of the terminals on the machine and the position and dimensions of the attachment flanges of the terminal box. The outline drawing in continous lines of the terminal box is intended only to clarify the presentation. The arrangement of terminals applies to rotating electrical machines with three terminals and a rated voltage of 11 kV for which terminal pins under M12 are not allowed with regard to the operational plant or the size of the machine. Terminal pins with a minimum thread of M16 shall be used for short-circuit power over 330 MVA irrespective of the provisons in DIN 46200.
