This standard applies for combination filters for protection against radioactive Methyliodide and radioactive particles for use in atomic power plants, isotopes laboratories and similar facilities as part of respiratory protective devices. Laboratory tests are included, in order to specify compliance with the requirements. Some filters may also be used for other types of respiratory protective devices. In that case, they shall additionally be tested against the relevant standard and shall be marked as such.
