The enforcement of water legislation and a growing need for renovation over the past years have led to an increase in innovative techniques and procedures for rehabilitation of domestic sewer systems. Especially in Germany a variety of new techniques was developed based on CIPP (Cured In Place Pipes) methods. However, the standardization of necessary requirements for these rehabilitation systems is still pending. On this background the present project was aimed to formulate a draft version of publicly available specifications (DIN SPEC), together with service providers, municipalities and end users of CIPP techniques for house connections and base lines. The draft is based on research results, experience from IKT comparative product tests as well as accepted requirements recorded in CIPP standards for other applications. The new DIN SPEC helps to provide a basis for further standardization of pipe liners for rehabilitation of domestic sewer lines in order to improve the nationwide application of this innovative technique.
