This standard shall apply to systems and equipment to be developed or procured for, or to be furnished to the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). It shall be used in case of requirements for the protection against the effects of a high-altitude nuclear electromagnetic pulse (HEMP). The test procedure according to this standard is used to verify the required immunity/ resistibility of systems/ equipment to direct HEMP effects. Under certain circumstances, further tests with direct injection may be necessary for the verification of immunity/ resistibility against conducted disturbances. The test procedure is applicable to testing of mobile and transportable systems.
