This standard is applicable in connection with VG 88717-2 to the round penetration of the modular packing system used in shipbuilding to create penetrations for electric cable and for pipes. The round penetration serves to assemble electric cables or pipes which are fed through the ship's structure within circular packing frames according to VG 88717-3. Where the type with quadratic packing area is intended for penetrating several cables or a single pipe with low diameter and the type with circular packing area for penetrating a single cable or pipe with high diameter.
