This document specifies a method for the determination of melting point (cooling curve) of petroleum waxes. The method specified is unsuitable for waxes of the petroleum group, the microcrystalline waxes, or blends of such waxes with paraffin wax or scale wax. The test is particularly applicable to substances that are rather highly paraffinic or crystalline in nature.
