This standard applies to penetrations with PN 40(4,0 MPa, equates to 40 bar) for use in submarine vessels in case that a pressure watertight and longitudinal watertight electric cable shall be penetrated through the pressure hull without disconnection. Penetrations according to this standard are not applicable in case of screened cables, whose screen shall be electrically connected with the penetration (bonding).
