This DIN SPEC developed by PAS-procedure contains guidelines for the development of future standardization projects in the service sector. This document identifies interfaces between service standards and the relevant legal system in particular in the field of contract and liability law. In addition the possible legal effects of service standards due to links with the legal system are described. The coordination with the legal requirements of the contract, liability and profession law is a subject which is important for a variety of service sectors. This DIN SPEC is intended for participants in national, European and international standardisation committees. This makes it possible to identify and consider already at an early stage possible links between service standards and relevant provisions of contract or tort law. During the development of service standards special attention has to be made that these service standards do not conflict with legal and administrative regulations (see DIN 820-1:2009-05, 7.4)
