This standard applies to production-oriented technical documents and software acquired under contractual agreements with the Federal Republic of Germany for internal use and release to third parties for contracting purposes (right of use). It also applies to user-oriented technical documents (user documentation, such as service regulations with technical content, handling instructions) to which the same contractual and factual principles apply. This standard points out existing rights of the Federal Government/the Bundeswehr to use technical documents, especially those carrying a copyright marking (as for example specified in DIN ISO 16016) of a third party originator. At the same time it shall be made clear that these rights of use are exclusively restricted to certain purposes.
