This generic standard applies in combination with the individual detail standard to portable equipment housings 19 in slide-in technique, in the following referred to as components. The generic standard lays down the properties and provisions applying to all components. However, it only contains definite details on technical requirements and test conditions of a constant nature, i.e. properties and provisions which apply for all components as well as generic test procedures, questions of liability, etc. The detail standard specifies the technical requirements and tests applicable for the respective components. If requirements specified in the detail standard differ from those given in the generic standard, data given in the detail standard shall apply.
