VG 95447-1:2015-12

This standard provides a summary of the multi-purpose equipment housings used by the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). The equipment housings to be used for new development and the approved manufacturers are listed in VG 95212. The standards of the series VG 95447 apply to portable housings, 19 in slide-in technique. VG 95447-8 replaces the issues 1997 of VG 95446-8 to VG 95446-10, in which equipment housings were described in great detail. It considers new requirements such as air transportation or electromagnetic compatibility. Together with VG 95447-2 and VG 95447-4, VG 95447-8 specifies requirements and tests for standard housings with two lids. When specifying the test methods, the requirements of the NATO (STANAG 4370) applicable at the time of the publication of this standard have been taken into account. Since equipment housings often form an integral part of systems, a great deal of special models (e. g. with respect to electrical connectors or air conditioning) are used. However, these special models are based generally on the standard housings of the VG 95447 series. For the other portable housings used by the Bundeswehr, the standards of the VG 95446 series apply They were retained for the purpose of spare parts procurement and are no longer approved for new design.
