DIN 13080:2016-06

This standard sets out requirements for planning the construction of hospitals as well as their evaluation and assessment. It applies to hospitals and university clinics as well as to comparable healthcare facilities. It provides a basis for facilitating understanding between all parties involved in planning. DIN 13080 provides a basis for arranging the utilization areas and technical operating areas of hospitals. It applies to all types of hospital organization and specialized hospital units. This standard defines utilization areas and technical operating areas and their arrangement on the basis of the functions specific to hospitals. The calculation of the areas is dealt with in DIN 277-1.
