In practice of electro deposition coating, often surface active products which were used in preceding production processes are introduced into the electro-deposition bath material, e. g. metal forming additives, corrosion protection oils, lubricants for linkages. These surface active products can contaminate an electro-deposition bath and can lead to surface deteriorations in the electro-deposition coat and/or subsequent coats. This part of DIN specifies a test method for determining the compatibility of an electro-deposition paint with a reference oil.
