DIN 14461-3:2016-10

This standard specifies requirements for fire hose valves that are used to connect wall hydrant and other types of hose connection points to fire hose reel systems in accordance with DIN 14462: size 1: for wall hydrants with semi-rigid hose according to DIN 14461-1 - type S; size 2: for wall hydrants with semi-rigid hose according to DIN 14461-1 - type F, wall hydrants with flat hose in accordance with DIN 14461-6 or other type of a hose connection to a water supply line; size 2,5: special size as hose connection point to a water supply line. Fire hose valves according to this standard are provided for connection to fire water systems according to DIN 14462. According to DIN 14462 and DIN 1988-600 only valves of size 1 and equipped with a safety combination in accordance with 5.2 of this standard, shall be used also for direct connection of wall hydrants type S to the potable water supply. Note: Requirements and further provisions are contained in DIN 1988-600. Fire hose valves with limit switches (e. g. micro end switches) are used to obtain signal message when operating a valve. They are commonly used for the initiation of filling and draining devices in accordance with DIN 14463-1 in fire extinguishing pipe systems 'wet/dry' and for the control of pressure boosting systems for extinguishing water pipes 'wet '.
