More info

The use of systems for auto identification (Auto-ID), in particular radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, of Personal Protective Equipment (PSA) is suitable for improving occupational health and safety. There are great potentials in applications that allow the automatic detection, identification and documentation of PSA objects. To take advantage of these opportunities across the entire industry, across industries and across the board, it is necessary to have a uniform system for digital one-to-one labeling and clear classification of PSAs. On the basis of the grouping and characteristics of PSA on the basis of the requirements in European PSA standards, a concept for a superior labeling and classification system for PSA was developed taking into account existing standards for labeling and classification. The identification system for identification is based on ISO standards, the classification system based on the classification of the PPE in recognized standards and technical rules. The numbering structure for the marking and the number structure for the classification of the PSA have been converted into a binary coding which forms the basis for the automatic identification. It is thus possible to give a single PSA a one-way, machine-readable identification for identification. By means of the classification number, the type of PSA and, where applicable, its properties and further information can be clearly identified.
