This standard specifies with regard to blind and partially sighted persons requirements to acustic and tactile stationary traffic light systems and pedestrian crossings in connection with DIN 18040-3, DIN EN 50556 (VDE 0832-100), DIN VDE V 0832-110, DIN EN 50293 (VDE 0832-200) and the guidelines for light signalling Equipment (RiLSA). This standard is also applicable to transportable traffic light systems used for crossings or joining traffic if additional signals for blind and partially sighted persons are required - see type D of TL - Transportable light signalling systems - 97. For systems under reconstruction, or which are additionally equipped with a subsidiary signalling due to construction, the temporarily used system should include additional signals for blind and partially sighted persons.
