DIN SPEC 16589:2018-07

The DIN SPEC 16589 describes the integration of the internet functionality in product codes, that are used primarily for logistics and traceability in industry and health care. The method is suitable for information management of specific product or object data, as information sheets and material safety data sheets, as well as for automation solutions in the maintenance management. The application area includes object-machine communication and object-internet communication and is therefore suitable for projects as Industry 4.0.
