This International Standard specifies requirements and tests for the product safety of secondary lithium cells and batteries used in electrical energy storage systems with a maximum voltage of DC 1500V (Nominal). This standard does not apply to portable systems under 500Wh which are covered with IEC 61960-3. This standard applies to uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).
