This prestandard applies for the planning and installation of high-voltage overhead electrical lines with hybrid AC/DC systems, i. e. one or more AC circuits are in parallel with one or more DC circuits in close vicinity. It also applies for the planning and installation of DC high-voltage overhead electrical lines. In this prestandard AC systems with a nominal voltage exceeding 45 kV and DC systems with a rated voltage exceeding 45 kV are regarded as high-voltage overhead electrical lines. The configuration of the DC system (e. g. monopoles, bipoles) must be taken into account especially for the rating of the neutral conductor.
